What is an Apprenticeship?

Apprenticeships are paid, structured training programmes that combine real-world work experience with formal education. You’ll earn a salary while gaining industry-recognised qualifications — without the hefty student debt.

Are Apprenticeships just for Trades?

Not at all! Apprenticeships have evolved far beyond traditional trade professions. Today, they span across almost every industry, from engineering and healthcare to digital marketing, cybersecurity, and even the creative arts.

They also come in different levels, starting from GCSE-equivalent qualifications all the way up to degree-level apprenticeships.

UK Apprenticeships Levels

Equivalent Qualification

Intermediate  Level 2 Apprenticeship  GCSE
Advanced  Level 3 Apprenticeship  A-Level
Higher  Level 4 Apprenticeship  Foundation degree
Level 5 Apprenticeship  Foundation degree
Degree  Level 6 Apprenticeship  Bachelor’s or master’s degree
Level 7 Apprenticeship  Bachelor’s or master’s degree

Why Consider an Apprenticeship in 2025?

  • Earn while you learn – No student debt, just a salary.
  • Real-world experience – Get skills that employers actually value.
  • Career advancement – Many apprentices land full-time roles after completing their programme.
  • Diverse options – From coding to construction, there’s something for everyone.
