London, Monday, 19th August 2019: The Institute of Coding (IoC), a government-funded national consortium of educators, employers, outreach groups and professionals formed to respond to the UK’s digital skills gap, has created a new online course catalogue that will help guide learners in their journey to a digital career. This online catalogue brings together a wide range of digital skills courses that are being offered by the IoC’s 33 partner universities and educators, showcasing an array of innovative course formats that focus on in-demand areas like cyber security and artificial intelligence.

These high-quality courses are being designed by the IoC and its partners in close consultation with employers. This means that, by taking these courses, learners can be confident that they are gaining the digital skills that the nation’s leading employers are looking for. The courses are also being offered in new and innovative formats that encourage wider participation, like short courses, tasters and online learning.

The design and management of the IoC’s course catalogue has been delivered by FutureLearn, an online social learning platform.

As the partners of the IoC develop more courses with industry and employers, the course catalogue will continue to grow. Please visit www.instituteofcoding.org/courses/ regularly to see the IoC’s latest courses.

Rachid Hourizi, Director, Institute of Coding comments:

“The new online catalogue is truly innovative in that it brings together courses from the IoC’s more than 30 educational providers. We work with industry and employers to determine what skills they require, and then engage with our partners in higher education to design courses to meet this need. The IoC’s mandate is to respond to the UK’s digital skills gap, and this easy-to-use course catalogue will help the next generation of learners develop the skills that they need to be highly employable.”
