Click Start Tech Prize Draw - Terms & Conditions
1. Background
These Terms and Conditions set out the terms governing the Click Start course via FutureLearn Prize Draw. The promoter of the Prize Draw is the The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully and ensure that you understand them before submitting your entry for the Prize Draw.
By submitting an entry to the Prize Draw, you are agreeing to accept and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please note that The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds reserve the right to refuse entry or refuse to award a prize to anyone who is in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
2. Eligibility
- Open to UK residents over the age of 16.
- Participants must complete one full Click Start course via FutureLearn before 11:59pm on 30th September 2025.
- Only one entry per person is permitted.
3. How to Enter
To enter the prize draw, you must:
- Complete a Click Start course on FutureLearn.
- Receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion.
- Post a screenshot of your certificate on Instagram or LinkedIn.
- Include the hashtag #ClickStartSkills.
- Tag both @instituteofcoding and @onlinecoursesuniversityofleeds in your post and make sure you follow both accounts.
- Ensure your profile is set to public so entries can be verified or send a screenshot of your post via DM to @instituteofcoding.
Posts must remain live and public until at least 3rd November 2025 to be valid.
4. Prizes
A total of 18 prizes are available:
- 1 x £2,500 tech voucher (Currys)
- 1 x £1,000 tech voucher (Currys)
- 1 x £500 tech voucher (Currys)
- 5 x £100 Amazon vouchers
- 10 x £50 Amazon vouchers
Prizes are non-transferable and no cash alternatives will be offered.
5. Winner Selection
- Winners will be drawn at random on 2nd October 2025 using a verified random selection tool.
- Winners will be contacted via direct message on the platform where they posted their entry (Instagram or LinkedIn) by 3rd October 2025.
- Winners must respond and confirm their win by 3rd November 2025. If unclaimed, the prize will be reallocated via a redraw on 4th November 2025.
6. Claiming Your Prize
To claim your prize, you must:
- Respond to the winner notification within 30 days.
- Email a screenshot of your original social media post, showing your certificate and required hashtag/tagging, as well as proof of your UK residency, to iocmarketing@bath.ac.uk.
Failure to follow all steps or provide verifiable evidence will result in disqualification and another winner will be selected.
7. Publicity
7.1.1 We are required to publish or otherwise make available information which indicates that a valid award has taken place. The surname and county of major prize winners (and, where applicable, copies of winning entries) will be provided are available from the Institute of Coding by:
- Writing to the institute of coding at , University of Bath, Institute of Coding, 2 South 1.13, Claverton Down, Bath, BA2 7AY, enclosing a self-addressed envelope; or
- Sending an email to the Institute of Coding at iocmarketing@bath.ac.uk;
- within 14 days after the Closing Date.
7.2 If you object to any of your information, as set out above being published or otherwise made available, please contact the Institute of Coding by post at University of Bath, Institute of Coding, 2 South 1.13, Claverton Down, Bath, BA2 7AY, by email at iocmarketing@bath.ac.uk, or by telephone on 07890634367. Please note that We are still required to provide such information and winning entries to the Advertising Standards Authority on their request.
8. Limitation of Liability
8.1 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes your legal rights as a consumer. For more information on your rights as a consumer, please contact your local Trading Standards Office or Citizens Advice Bureau.
8.2 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds (or that of our agents or distributors, or that of their employees) for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other form of liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
8.3 To the extent permitted by law, and subject to sub-Clauses 8.1 and 8.2, The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds (and our agents and distributors) shall not be responsible or liable to compensate any winner and shall not accept any liability for any loss, damage, death, or personal injury, as a result of accepting a prize.
9 Privacy and Personal Data
9.1 The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds will only use your personal information as set out in Our Privacy Policy, available from Privacy-statement_IoC_Click-Start.pdf.
10. Additional Notes
- Entries containing offensive or inappropriate content will be disqualified.
- The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds accept no responsibility for entries that are lost, misdirected, or incomplete due to technical issues.
- We reserve the right to verify entries and to refuse or withdraw any entry at our discretion if the rules are not followed.
- By entering, you agree to these terms and give permission for your entry, including name and social media handle, to be shared by the Institute of Coding and the University of Leeds and their partners for promotional purposes.
- The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds reserve the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the promotion if it becomes necessary for us to do so.
11. Law and Jurisdiction
11.1 These Terms and Conditions, the Prize Draw, and the relationship between The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds and you (whether contractual or otherwise) shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, English law.
11.2 Any dispute, controversy, proceedings, or claim between The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds and you relating to these Terms and Conditions, the Prize Draw, or to the relationship between The Institute of Coding and University of Leeds and you (whether contractual or otherwise) shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England, Wales, or Scotland, as determined by your residency.
