Who is this course for
The Agritech bootcamp is aimed at 19 and over who are looking to gain experience in Agriculture Technology and in the different machinery and equipment used in Agriculture. The ideal participants would be seeking land-based farming work or work experience to supplement the course programme. Those who are not already in employment would be ready and available for permanent employment at the end of the 16 week programme. Some participants may already be working in Agriculture and employers will be seeking for the qualification and additional experience of the hands on practical of various technical equipment and machinery with digital technology in mind.
4 GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A*-C) including English, Maths and Science (or equivalent).
Demonstrate a positive and responsible attitude towards working within the agricultural industry.
Interviewed if required
- Be aged 19+
- Have the right to live and work in the UK
- Agree to provide mandatory personal data and supplementary information on their employment outcomes for up to 8 months following completion of the Skills Bootcamp
- Be looking for a new role, new opportunities or increased responsibility/promotion to a different role which utilises the skills acquired through their Skills Bootcamp
- employed/self-employed, or
- career changers/returners/redeployed, or
- unemployed within the last 12 months
Employers will be able to send existing employees who meet the Skills Bootcamp eligibility requirements on this training at an impressive 70% discount. Interested employers should contact the individual Skills Bootcamp provider.
What will I learn
As part of the Skills Bootcamp in AgriTech, you will gain both hands on and technical experience in undertaking land-based machinery operations, understanding computer application and control in land-based technology, and understanding and working with ground care equipment. You will also undertake an investigative project in one of the following areas: AgriTech – dairy farming, computerised AgriTech machinery, or computerised crop production.Visit this course

How has the Skills Bootcamp been designed/created with employer input?
Wiltshire College and University Centre work closely with TH White within Wiltshire. This includes the £9 million robotic diary which TH White have been instrumental in helping support with the training of the robotic diary.
How are employers involved in the delivery of this Skills Bootcamp?
TH White have provided input and the course structure and specific units have been picked to ensure the technical and digital elements of land-based work is delivered throughout.

HNC/D in Agriculture (General) at Lackham Foundation Degree in Agriculture.
