/GirlsCode MK Hackathon 2

A beginner-friendly hackathon in collaboration with local groups. Participants will be working on a web application for a group’s library of text books, as well as using BBC micro:bits to create an “internet of books”. Everyone is welcome, for as long or as little as you can manage. The event is aimed at supporting women into developing technical skills, and also has activities for children (11+).

Participants will develop a web app for the GirlsCode MK lending library, working on all aspects of app development. We will also have a number of BBC micro:bits, allowing participants to explore physical computing and develop an “internet of books”.

The event is accessible for people of all ages and abilities. Professional software developers will be on hand throughout the weekend, acting as coaches to support the participants. Participants in the hackathon will determine for themselves which tasks to work on.
