/Digital Data Cycle for Humanities and Social Sciences – Workshop

Queen Mary is engaged in improving the computing skills of students and staff outside of Computer Science, as part of the government-funded, national initiative, The Institute of Coding (IoC).

There is demand across college for improving students’ competency in ‘data analytics’. To start addressing students’ skills gap, the IoC at Queen Mary is hosting a practical workshop on the topic of data literacy for academics in Humanities and Social Sciences.

The aim of the workshop is to provide academics with tools, topics, teaching approaches which will hopefully equip you to teach data analytics to students in an integrated way within your disciplinary context.

The 1 day workshop will cover:

Session 1: Digital data acquisition (75 mins)

Session 2: Cleansing and exploring of data (75 mins)

Section 3: Data modelling and analysis (75 mins)

Section 4: Data visualisation, interpretation and sharing (75 mins)
