/Digital Bootcamp for students and graduates
As part of the Institute of Coding, a national programme to tackle the skills gap between industry and university graduates, the University of Sunderland are partnering with Digital Union, to provide a series of free top up technical courses and Digital Bootcamps starting on the 25th September 2019, to increase the employment skills of graduates and students.
Technical courses
The University of Sunderland will look to provide some relevant ‘brush up’ computer science courses aimed at enhancing your technical skills and ensuring they are relevant to the needs of industry.
Digital Bootcamps
Digital Union’s Bootcamp, the only one like it in the UK, will offer an extensive insight into the digital sector, valuable agency & project experience, alongside essential soft skills training.
The programme has been designed in consultation with, and will be delivered by the best digital professionals from the region to give you the skills & experience that will make you stand out from the crowd.
It’s for those graduates and students who need a solid understanding of what’s going on in the digital world and that want to adopt best practice ways of working. Once you have completed the Bootcamps, you will have industry standard skills, practised in working collaboratively under an agile framework and using industry standard tools to manage projects & clients. You will be confident selling yourself to potential employers with essential communication & presentation skills.
Workshop dates:
Each one day Digital Bootcamp will start at 9.30am and finish at 4.30pm. Bootcamps will be held on the following dates:
- 25th September (industry project briefing)
- 2nd October (project tools & presentation and communication skills)
- 9th October (Agency day)
- 16th of October (Professional Practice and industry networking).
Shortlisted graduates will be expected to attend all of the sessions.
