Who is this course for
This course is for people who want to explore this exciting and dynamic area of computer science, learning the skills of programming and mathematics necessary for a deep understanding of how artificial intelligence technologies can be successfully applied to real-world problems. There will be opportunities to learn to create intelligence agents, gain a deep understanding of data flows within organisations and systems and how data can be engineered to produce knowledge.
There is the option to undertake a years paid placement as a part of this degree programme and various trips to relevant conferences and events will take place within the academic year.
What will I learn
This course will cover programming in C++ and Python from the ground up, and introduce various libraries and tools for deep learning and data science. We will do both an initial overview of the field of artificial intelligence, and a later deep dive into how the mathematics drives the technology within this field. We will cover optimisation and machine learning algorithms in depth, including both traditional and cutting edge algorithms and how these can be applied to real world problems. On the final year the course content is largely self-driven, with both a practical research project, and a group project, along with a number of optional modules to deep dive into specific areas (e.g. robotics, internet of things, data science).Visit this course
